Maribel Zamora, president of Catalan Volleyball Federation presented the GAP Women project within the II International Women in sports Congress that took place in Barcelona in September. The Congress is the UFEC’s initiative gathers women involved in sport field from all over the world to reflect on such a relevant topics as:
– maternity
– representation and involvement of women in the media and advertising
– women’s participation in federated sport
– women in sport management
– future of women participation in sport field
GAP Women European partnership representing ten organizations is aimed to promote women’s participation in sport in order to increase the number of female federation licenses towards an inclusive and sustainable sport. GAP WOMEN targets adult women between 18 and 50 years old, including those belonging to groups at risk of social exclusion: immigrants, refugees, physically/intellectually disabled, victims of gender violence, etc. The project also targets organizations, federations, clubs and public administrations who are important actors in promotion of equality, social integration and sustainability in sport.
The Congress was a great opportunity to promote the GAP Women project within more then 200 participants from 10 countries. It also was a chance to find new collaborations and project followers.
