The “Keeping Girls in Sport” webinar focuses on strategies to keep girls engaged in sports.
Organized on November 28, 2024, by Sport and Citizenship, UFEC and ENGSO within the Erasmus Plus project GAP Women, led by UFEC, this event aimed to promote girls’ participation in sport and reflect on such important subjects for the sporting community, such as:
- what are the barriers of girls’ participation in sport,
- what kind of strategies and actions sport community can take to keep girls in sport,
- importance of role models to prevent girls’ abandonment from sport in their teens.
Several role models, experts in the field of sport and partners of the Gap Women project shared their experiences and good practices on promoting gender equality in sport and their common actions taken within European Week of Sport 2024.
This webinar was also the opportunity to discuss the solutions for sustaining girls’ participation in sports, such as Gap Women’s online course developed for grassroots sport organizations.
